The Thugs: they were so smol

I started writing a post over a month ago, but I got stuck partway through and just couldn't seem to get it finished.  I finally decided to just delete it and move on to moar kittehs.

I remember one day I couldn't find Velvet.  I looked all over the apartment until I finally found that she had discovered a cozy little spot in one of my bookshelves, where she was partially hidden by some books.  I'm really not sure how she managed to squeeze herself in there.

How is Velvet even remotely comfortable laying like that?  I'm glad that they got used to me rubbing their bellies.  I mean, how could anyone resist?

Here is Velvet balancing herself on my computer monitor.  I think she was trying to get my attention because it was time to eat.

Like many first-time cat owners, I bought an expensive toy for them, which they generally ignored.  They would occasionally move the ball around in the track, but it usually required me to give it a spin to attract their attention.  They were far more likely to use it like this.

Kitties and baskets.  They were quite fond of this one.  Neither one of them would fit in this basket now, much less both of them.

They were quite fond of getting on top of my bookshelves, and were pretty good about not knocking stuff off of them.  Silk did learn that knocking stuff off the shelves was a good way to get my attention if I wasn't preparing their food at the proper time.

Who needs expensive cat toys?  An empty Coke box provided plenty of entertainment.

I can't believe how small they are in these pictures, and that they could comfortably fit in a Coke box.

     Look at those ears.
